Trends come and go, but adding pops of color in your home is a decorating secret that will never fade away. Now that the glimmer and glam of the holidays have been all stored away, January is the perfect time to add some color.

We understand that adding bright, bold colors might be a little intimidating, but we have a few ways you can add color …no risk involved.

Color can undoubtedly transform a space, but what if you grow tired of it or you need a change from its bold statement? Color is a lot like fashion.  Some colors grow in popularity, while others fade away. The key to adding color is to use a neutral color as a backdrop, such as on walls and in larger furniture pieces, and save the color for things that can easily be changed out with the seasons or with your moods.

Our biggest tip when adding color is to stick with one color family throughout the home. Yes, you can change the colors per room but keep within the same color palette.

Here are a few ways you can add color without breaking the bank or being stuck with one color for a long time.

In the Kitchen

Black and white kitchens have become all the craze in the last few years, but they make the prettiest backdrop when adding splashes of color. The key is picking a color scheme and then incorporate the colors into different elements throughout the room.

In the Bathroom

Get creative in the smallest room in your home. Bathrooms are the perfect place to experiment with color. The white porcelain and shiny fixtures make for a stunning display of pops of bold and bright color.

In the Bedroom

Even though bedrooms are typically the one place where your mind goes to rest and relax its also the place where you need to be rejuvenated and energized. In small doses, color can add energy to a space.

In the Living Room

Bright and bold colors come together in the living room. The room where you gather as a family and entertain your guest is the one place where color can play an essential role in how inviting your home feels. Through pillows, drapery, accent pieces, and area rugs, you can change the mood of the room instantly with a few small changes.

Color doesn’t need to be scary.

Get creative and take a trip to your local home decorating store and go crazy with color! Your home will love you for it. Don’t forget if you grow tired of it or the mood or season changes; you can easily change it out …no risk involved.
