Interior Design trends come and go each year. Remember when carpeted bathrooms were a trend?! Yeah, let’s forget about that one. The Top 2018 trends are sure to stay around for a while. Below I want to talk about 5 of them that I think are most prominent!

1. Rich paint colors
Color is going to be bright and bold this year. Grey will always be a go-to neutral, but brighter, richer colors are popping up everywhere. Some refer to these colors as “Moody Interiors” that are bringing back all sorts of classy feelings. Below I’ve compiled a few examples of rich colors that are making a comeback this year!
Check these colors out for inspiration:
1. Sherwin-Williams: Oceanside SW6496
2. Valspar: Favorite Green 5011-4
3. Olympic: Black Magic OL116

2. Light furniture
People are ditching the textured, Queen Anne styled furniture for simpler looks and simpler colors! The hottest trend in furniture is light and simple. A bed frame that is white or a lightwood with no extra frills is all the craze. Why? Because it matches everything, and remember, light colors brighten a room and make it feel larger and inviting! This trend is sure to stick around for a while.

3. Geometric coffee tables
Wooden tops and metal bases that create geometric shapes are very in. This style works well with a variety of other styles and adds something interesting to a room. Say goodbye to that boring, straight-legged side table and hello to the table that excites. Yes, this table is a more modern twist to your average coffee table, yet it is very popular in upcoming designs.

4. Statement area rugs
Area rugs of a solid color are not what you will see popping up in homes anymore. You will start to see rugs with multiple colors and vibrant patterns. When your walls and furniture are all neutral and simple, adding a rug with extra color will be sure to bring life to that room. Even carpets that are not your ordinary rectangle, such as circle or different geometric patterns (those rugs typically fit into a contemporary home very well) really make a statement in any room.

5. Cement tile
If you haven’t heard about cement tile yet, you are missing out! It comes in endless styles, colors, and patterns and is sure to add personality to any home. It is being used as backsplashes for kitchens, and walls or flooring for bathrooms. Another fun part of adding these bright tiles to your space is the different patterns they can be laid in. The herringbone pattern is one of the most popular right now, because it adds the sense of texture to the walls or floors. This trend is durable, and is sure to add a pop of color to your home.

Now it’s time to get up and start that project you’ve been wanting to do. Hopefully these design trends have inspired you as much as they have us!
