No doubt about it, selling a home can be stressful no matter what time of the year it is.

But in the Spring, when the market is blooming both with flowers and buyers, it’s the PERFECT time of the year to put your home on the market.

Through March and well into June, the real estate market is hopping in the Jacksonville area. Just about everyone and anyone who is in the house buying mode is hitting open houses in full force.

Here are just a few reasons why Spring is a good time to sell your Jacksonville home.

• Daylight savings makes a difference. – After the long winter, people are anxious to get out of the house past five o’clock and still have plenty of daylight to guide their search. Most buyers have spent the last month or two securing financing, doing their research, and are pumped up about house shopping. The longer days make it more feasible to do drive-bys after work or before dinner.
• Buyers are planning ahead. – For those buyers that have children, Spring makes the best time to house shop. It leaves them plenty of time to get the kids settled over the summer and before a new school year begins. Even those buyers without children find the Spring a better time to move rather than deal with the heat of summer.
• Curb appeal looks best. No doubt about it, our lawns and flowers look much nicer in the Spring than after the heat of summer has scorched them. As a seller, you won’t mind keeping your lawn picture-perfect in the mild temperatures of Spring. There’s no doubt about it; your porch, patio, and outside living areas look their best this time of the year.
• Bidding wars are common. More buyers can only mean one thing, and that is, there is more competition from other buyers. What does that mean for you? More money in your pocket, of course. Springtime is notoriously known for buyers to take part in bidding wars more than any other time of the year.
