As home stagers and interior designers, we get the opportunity to design some really cool spaces. But every so often a project comes along that solidifies why we love what we do.

Last year, the staff here at Interiors Revitalized took on a project for Magellan Transport Logistics in Jacksonville, Florida.

Magellan owners, Tom and Patty Piatak, wanted something out of the ordinary for their 8505 Baycenter office.

Keeping the needs of their employees foremost in their minds, they contracted Interior Revitalized and Tenant Contractors to remodel an old data-center warehouse into a state-of-the-art logistics facility.

Magellan knew it takes a staff of dedicated employees to run a company as large as theirs. They wanted a sustainable and environmentally conscious design, full of the latest employee-focused amenities.

Sixteen southeast Florida companies were nominated for the 2019 “Coolest Office Space” award. Commercial Design Services (CDS) and the Jacksonville Business Journal hosted the awards ceremony Thursday, September 16. The ceremony recognized companies, architects, construction partners, and design firms who built out these cool office spaces. The Jacksonville Business Journal awarded Magellan Transport Logistics the “Coolest Office Space” award as their building shows how a well-designed workplace can impact staff health and happiness.

Over 19,000 square feet of space was designated for Logistics Operations Center (work stations) and warehouse. Highlighting technological and environmentally conscious- sustainable designs included new HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, bathroom/shower facilities, furniture, flooring, paint, and cleaning products.

The east wing featured an industrial kitchen, 5,000 square foot amenity zone with billiards, ping-pong, darts, putting green, air hockey, and arcade gaming options.

The 4,000 square foot Wellness Center hosts an array of Life Fitness cardio machines, Icarian Sectorized equipment, and Troy bar/free weights. Lastly- Magellan offers relaxation rooms…critical for relieving stress or a quick nap!!

Now don’t get me wrong, I certainly love being a small business owner, but who wouldn’t want to work for a company that encourages their employees to work hard, play hard, take time for wellness and find joy in the journey.
