• What finishes and style do you have in your home? Take a look around at your lamps or cabinet hardware. If they are brushed nickel look for that finish for your light. Are the furnishings in your home traditional? Stick with the traditional look.
• Consider a ceiling fan for the room. Ceiling fans can help keep your utilities down not only in the summer but also the winter. Unless you have a good secondary light source, make sure you get a light kit.
• Choose higher quality lights for more important rooms. For guest bedrooms or laundry rooms it’s ok to be frugal but make sure to splurge a bit for the family room.
• There are certain rooms in the home I feel you can get creative with. Kids rooms are always fun to create a theme. Keep the theme going with a fun light. Dining rooms are another great room to do something different. This is a perfect space to do something not so typical. Find a chandelier that has a little personality!
