We held our fifth annual Ronald McDonald House wreath-making benefit on December 2nd and December 3rd at The Blind Rabbit in Jacksonville Beach and The Jacksonville Garden Club in Riverside. Everyone had a great time creating their real evergreen holiday wreaths. We provided the greens, wreath forms, ornaments, and design guidance for our participants.
A few years ago, my husband and I had family members who experienced the comforting assistance of Ronald McDonald House during a stressful time. We saw the impact they were making helping families of severely-ill or injured children firsthand. As a result, we decided that this would be a cause we would want to support.
This year, the Ronald McDonald House has plans for a huge expansion to provide a safe and comfortable haven for families during their time of need. We wanted to ensure the success of this project. Thanks to the 45 participants of our 2015 Ronald McDonald House Wreath-Making benefit, we raised $1700 to give them a good start.
The Ronald McDonald House, located at 824 Children’s Road in Jacksonville, has provided temporary housing and support for more than 33,000 families of severely-ill or injured children. Their 30-bedroom house offers accommodations for families so they can remain with their children during their medical treatment in Jacksonville hospitals.
